EMPLOYMENT

​

  • Employment Placement and Support Services (EPSS) Provides support and information for those with mental illness or disabilities that are unemployed or under-employed. Call 403-343-6249. Visit epssreddeer.com/services.

 

FINANCIAL

​

  • AISH Provides financial and health-related assistance to eligible adults with severe disabilities. Call 403-340-5353. Visit alberta.ca/aish.aspx.

  • Employment Income (EI) Provides temporary financial assistance to unemployed Canadians who have lost their job through no fault of their own while they look for work or upgrade their skills. Call 1-800-206-7218. Visit servicecanada.gc.ca.

  • Income Support Provides financial assistance to Albertans who do not have the resources to meet their basic needs, such as food, clothing and shelter. Call 1-877-644-9992. Visit alberta.ca/income-support.aspx.

  • Local Churches Many local churches may provide financial help and grocery hampers. There is often an application process and some documentation required. For more information, contact us at 403-343-1619 to book an appointment with one of our client advocates.

HOUSING

​

  • We have a weekly list of local rental properties and can help you with the forms and documentation required by housing agencies. Contact us at 403-343-1619 to book an appointment with one of our client advocates for more information.

LEGAL

  • Child Support Services Helps parents with limited income get child support agreements or court orders. Visit alberta.ca/child-support.aspx.

  • Legal Aid Alberta Provides legal aid in civil and criminal matters for people who cannot afford to pay for a lawyer from their resources. Call 1-866-845-3425. Visit legalaid.ab.ca.

  • Native Counselling Services of Alberta Provides access to court workers who provide support, counselling and help with understanding your rights and responsibilities. Services are free and open to everyone. Call 403-347-4377. Visit ncsa.ca.

MEDICAL

  • Health Link 24 hours a day, seven days a week, telephone health advice and health information service answered by registered nurses. Call 811. Visit albertahealthservices.ca.
